We unfortunately had rain throughout the day which was very challenging but our guide Bill Hwang did as much as he could so we could have a memorable day. Gakwonsa temple is a very nice place and we were still able to find some cherryblossoms. The pyeongtaek festival was quite small and not the best place when it's raining so thankfully they have a store that sells local produce which was more interessant. Our guide even help us find a place to have local food for lunch which was great and we did a small market tour while in Suwon. The Suwon fortress is pretty massive but a really nice place to visit!

[About the attractions]

King Cherry Blossoms
King cherry blossoms have larger petals compared to regular cherry blossoms, creating a more vibrant and fuller bloom. These blossoms typically appear in mid to late April, slightly later than other cherry blossoms. Originally found on Jeju Island, they have since been cultivated in other parts of Korea.

▲ Suwon Hwaseong Fortress
A majestic stone and brick fortress that surrounds the city of Suwon. The well-preserved traditional Korean houses and stone walls create a quiet and beautiful atmosphere. Enjoy the sight of Yoshino cherry blossoms and Korean spring flowers, including azaleas, cherry blossoms, and cornelian cherry.

▲ Pyeongtaek Spring Flower Festival
A beautiful spring festival held at Pyeongtaek Agro-Ecological Park. The park features a lovely variety of spring flowers such as cherry blossoms, magnolias, tulips, and more.

▲ Gakwonsa Temple
The second-largest temple in South Korea and home to an incredible variety of cherry blossoms. The temple is also renowned for its stunning statue of the Buddha, widely considered one of the most beautiful statues in Korea.

▲ Munsusa Temple
In spring, the mountain comes alive with blooming cherry blossoms and wildflowers, creating a scene that resembles something out of a traditional Korean painting. Don't miss the breathtaking King Cherry Blossom Tunnel at Munsusa Temple, where falling cherry blossoms transform the ground into a stunning pink carpet.

▲ Gaesmisa Temple
Gaesimsa, which means "a temple that opens the heart", is a small and cozy temple that's full of character. Witness the rare blue cherry blossom and the exclusive green cherry blossom found only here that bloom just for a few weeks each year.
