The facts

Opened in March 2014, Dongdaemun Design Plaza is the latest iconic landmark of Seoul. It has been designed as a cultural hub for people of all ages.

Designed by Zaha Hadid, DDP is known as the biggest three dimensional atypical building in the world. You can find a variety of spaces including Art Halls, Conference Hall, Design Museum, Design Lab, Media Centre, Seminar Rooms and Design Market within DDP. Many different kinds of art and design related shows, conferences and exhibitions are held here.

There is a permanent exhibition in collaboration with Gansong Art Museum. (Admission: 8,000 won)

At D3 Gate, there is a SM TOWN Stardium where you can purchase EXO goods from clothes, stationery items to posters. Here you can purchase one of a kind t-shirt with your idol and your initials or SM Idol’s hand written message printed.

as an international student from a totally different country, this piece of architecture is super exciting to look at! we went into the exhibition "the lab" which cost 20.000 krw per person and were delighted to spend about two hours in there. the plaza looks super pretty in day and night time!

Very interesting architecture, but a lot of exhibitions are paid entry, so you might end up only being able to stroll around.

It was such a very beautiful architectural masterpiece (at least for me). I'm so amazed with it and I hope that I'll get to explore this place a little more. I would definitely go back again but this time with my family.
