It was built in the 17th century which contain temples, shrines and a palace for use by the king (King Injo). The walls provide breathtaking views of the city of Seoul, especially from the West Gate from where sunsets and night views are particularly amazing. The fortress is now a provincial park with great hiking paths. If you climb to the highest peak Iljangsan, you can see Incheon’s Nakjo area, and not only Seoul, but the surrounding Gyeonggi-do area as well.
